    Planning Priorities 2021

Tim Gray, Founder and Managing Director,

As companies and countries dip their toes back in the water post lock down we will see a number of new priorities emerging. As was the case in 2020 it will be difficult yet imperative for companies to:

    • Maintain planning playbooks so your team can execute immediately and with confidence upon certain conditions – E.g. Plan how your team will respond when a major supplier goes back into lockdown

    • Plan more frequently – monthly planning cycles should become weekly.

    • Redirect focus as flow lines around the globe change. Trade and travel will be opening up but subsequent lockdowns are still happening

    • Invest in systems that ensure you are planning with true foresight. We have all learnt that we cannot rely on history or statistics trends alone to run our businesses.

Few countries will go from lockdown to open in a clean sweep – there will be false starts and new rules by Governments as they react to the changes in hot spots and the need to keep their markets open and their population safe. 2021 could be another year in which we see many businesses unable to remain open or retain market dominance if they are fail to address these three challenges:

    • Businesses must forecast and integrate these forecasts into their operations. Those businesses that run their supply chain based on history are unable to see what problems are coming nor can they see the consequences of their choices until it is too late.

    • Companies spend a fortune on their ERP systems and still cannot anticipate how well they will service their customer’s needs. Nor can they predict or compare different cost to service options. IT investment should expect a demonstrated ROI, and deliver measurable impact on profitability.

    • Teams are operating in silos without visibility on the up or down stream consequences of their actions.

    We address these problems by:

    • Raising the line of sight ….We are like google maps for your business. We show you the choke points in your supply chain ahead of time, and guide you on how best to navigate them.

    • Our tailored solutions deliver an average 454% ROI, and make the project self-funding within the first 12 months.

    • We align our solution with the clients’ teams and processes, so they can plan with foresight instead of reacting in chaos.

As respected and awarded global supply chain experts, Prophit Systems can take the unforeseen out of your operations. We are a world leading Supply Chain Solutions Company that develops and implements supply chain management software for multi-site manufacturing companies.

With over 30 years of experience across a range of industries, we really understand the challenges companies face struggling with blind spots in their supply chain.

We saw that businesses doing well in 2020 were able to react quickly, source materials from open supply lines and adapt their supply chains quickly as other options closed/ opened.

Opportunities are rife but it’s a dynamic world. Our advice is to:

    1. Keep abreast of the news and trends to identify the both threats and opportunities

    2. Plan for supply chain options and revisit your plans regularly

    3. Continually assess the suitability of new market opportunities as they arise

    4. Plan to service your existing customers like your new opportunities, impeccably

To do this your Supply Chain will need to respond faster and be more informed. Adaptive Supply Chain Planning will be a pivotal discipline for post pandemic success.
